Tocllaraju Climbing

   
Day 1: Huaraz – Collon – Base camp to 4350meters
Transfer to the trail head Collon in private bus, Collon 3600masl aprox, where we will meet the donkey drivers, then we will go hiking along the Ishinka Valley, where there is the National Park’s control, then after to check in we will have lunch, then we will continue walking arriving to the base camp of Ishinka around 4 pm, overnight at 4200masl camping

Day 2: Base camp – Camp 1 camp to 5200meters
Late in the afternoon we climbers will star going up to the Camp 1 for Tocllaraju, after 2 hours walking climbers will star walking in the sn ow, and then after 1 hour climbing. Is the camp 1 and overnight at 5200masl camping in the glacier

Day 3: Camp 1 – Summit – Base camp
After the breakfast at 4 am climbers will start climbing for about 2 hours to succeed the summit, then after to enjoy the summit, immediately will return to the base Camp arriving at 1pm aprox for Lunch, free afternoon to relax and overnight at 4200masl camping

Day 4:Base camp – Collon – Huaraz
Start walking down hill along the Ishinka valley at 9am aprox arriving to the trail head Collon at 12m, then we will have lunch here, after we will aboard the private bus and come back to Huaraz arriving at 2pm aprox. Free afternoon and overnight at Hotel Huaraz

  • Horses and Donkeys (for equipment and personal items, actually your main heavy stuff, will be carried by the horses, it means you only will carry a small day bag, day by day just to Base Camp), we included 01 emergency horse to ride on including horsemen

  • Backpack,
  • Sleeping bag
  • Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Huaraz for a few dollars)
  • Water bottle, ideally non disposable canteen (boiled drinking water will be provided)
  • Torch / Flashlight and batteries
  • Sun block (sun protection cream)
  • Insect repellent, absolutely the most important item for this hike is bug spray. Anything with a lot of DEET with do the job, anything less is simply not sufficient. Bug spray MUST be bought in Huaraz, as it cannot be found even in neighboring towns.
  • Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits, energy bars etc,
  • Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries, cash in soles and US$
  • Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs at Chancos after the Climbing days)
  • You also need to bring a copy of your passport on the trail.

Reservation details: All trek or climbing reservations must be made reservation in advance (however 30 days in advance is recommended especially during the months of April, May, June, July and August)

Payment details: We will require a non-refundable Climbing deposit of 50% per person payable at the time of Reservation and we will confirm you by e-mail or phone confirming your trek booking. The deposit could be paid by Our VISA Payment On-Line, Western Union or money transfer to our Peruvian Bank account and these are our fastest most secure form of payments in Peru. Further details of how to send the deposit are included with our trek booking confirmation email. The remaining balance is to be paid in Huaraz one day prior to your trek departure date. Payment can be made in cash US$, local currency (Peruvian Soles),
For a trek deposit Payment we use BANCO DE CREDITO DEL PERU, please if you are ready to make reservation inform as son as possible to send you our bank account number

Luggage storage. When you go on the trek it is best to leave any luggage that you are not going to need behind in Huaraz. Nearly all the hotels in Huaraz provide secure luggage deposit. Put any valuables in their safe. Very rarely do hotels charge for this service especially if you are returning to the same hotel after the trek. If there are any problems with your hotel we can arrange to store your luggage at our office.
Time of arrival in Huaraz you will return to your hotel in Huaraz for approximately 4:30pm on the last day of the trek
