Inka Nani - Huayhuash

   
1 Day: Huaraz - Chavin - Pomachaca - Pincos - Tambillo
Morning breakfast in the Hotel in Huaraz and drive to Chavin around 7am and start visiting the ruins, after to visit the ruins in the morning we will have lunch in the town of Chavin and Then we will continue driving along the Callejon de Conchucos Valley by next to mosna river, passing by several villages such a huantar and others, arriving to Pomachaca around 2pm, then hike for a few minutes to the camp site called Tambillo where we will prepare our camping at 2900masl, dinner and overnight camping.

2 Day: Tambillo - Lagunas Tinya - Quenhuajirca - San Cristóbal - Ayash
After the Andean breakfast in the camp site at Inka’s Style, we wil start hiking uo to the pass, but this time we will note climate changing due to altitude, different vegetations and landscapes, along the way we will observe the beautiful lakes of Tinya, that matches the Andean landscape, and we will continue hiking by the great INKA TRAIL passing by several water streams, upside Rio Colca, arriving to Quenuajirca to visit some ruins then continue with our expedition and arriving to the village of San Cristobal then turn to the right side in the valley we will find a small village called Hincush and next to the small river there is the village of Ayash with small ruins, and we will prepare our camping next to the river to be provided by water, Inka’s traditional Gastronomy and overnight camping around 3850 masl.

3 Day: Ayash - Huamanin - Huincush Pass - Lliulla
After the traditional breakfast we will continue hiking with destination to Huamani, in this route there will be no marked path, but our hiking guide will take us, to the right side, we will arrive to Humani always contemplating nice and wonderful highland landscapes, full of vegetation and birds, since here we will start hiking the notorious INKA TRAIL stone paved trail, approximately from 8 to 10 meters wide finally we will reach the Hincush pass at 4500 masl aprox, from here we can observe nice mountains dark blue color and silhouettes in different shapes we will have a rest in the Huincush pass, then after contemplating the landscapes we will walk down through a small valley called Lliula until the place called the same name, we will camp next to the small river, dinner in the highland style and overnight camping

4 Day: Lliulla - Tambogrande - Jiraycancha - Taparaco
After the brekafast we Hill continue with our expeditions hiking down by the Lliulla valley and the Taparaco small river, appreciating the variety of the sheepherders lifestyles, arrive to Jiraycancha and continue by the same valley we will arrive to Taparaco, where we can set our camping’s, overnight after the traditional dinner.

5 Day: Taparaco - Jellay Punku - Tullparumi - Pishcaraqui - Tararhua
After the breakfast in the camp site we Hill start hiking continue by the same valley and following the Taparaco river we will arrive to Kelleypunku a typical highlands place where we can meet the sheepherders, continue our great LLAM TREK in the INKA TRAIL, we will arrive to Tullparumi and pass the place called Pishcaraqui, finally to our camping place of Tararhua, here we can enjoy the INKA’s gastronomy specialty which our cook will prepare, dinner and overnight.

6 Day: Trarhua - San Lorenzo de Isco - Estanque - Jerusalén - Huaricasha
After the breakfast in our camp site we will start hiking following the Taparaco River, until to arrive to San Lorenzo de Isco, an Andean community where the farmers dedicate to the farms, then we will arrive to estanque, from here we will continue the Inka trail in the left side of the river arriving to Jerusalen and then to Huaricasha a small town where we will be welcomed by the local people, mainly children asking for sweets or candies offering us some typical dances with the guitars and violins, that they use to get joy in their spare times, then in the afternoon our Andean cook will offer us a traditional and typical Indians dish, dinner and overnight camping

7 Day: Huaricasha - Colpa - Quellecancha - Huanucopampa
After the traditional highland breakfast we will continue our last day hiking, passing by several highland villages arriving to Colpa and cross the Vizcarra river we will arrive to Kelleychanca, then after to rest here we will start hiking up a little bit until to arrive to Hunucoviejo complex at mid day approximately, after the lunch in Hunucoviejo we will have free afternoon to rest and have washings dinner and overnight in the door of the Hunucoviejo complex.

  • Backpack,
  • Sleeping bag
  • Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Huaraz for a few dollars)
  • Strong, comfortable footwear
  • One complete change of clothing (you can afford to carry more changes of clothing if you hire a personal porters, see options below)
  • Sweater and jacket (something warm)
  • Water bottle, ideally non disposable canteen (boiled drinking water will be provided)
  • Torch / Flashlight and batteries
  • Hat or cap to protect you from the sun
  • Sun block (sun protection cream)
  • Insect repellent, absolutely the most important item for this hike is bug spray. Anything with a lot of DEET with do the job, anything less is simply not sufficient. Bug spray MUST be bought in Huaraz, as it cannot be found even in neighboring towns.
  • Toiletries, towel and toilet paper
  • Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits, energy bars etc,
  • Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries, cash in soles and US$
  • Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs at Hunacarhuaz after the trek)
  • Optional: walking Poles /sticks rubber covers necessary (can be hired from our office for US$06 each one for the 4 day trek)
  • You also need to bring a copy of  your passport on the trail.

(1) Personal horse for riding while on the trek with and extra cost, you can have a personal horse to ride any time you may need.
(2) Vegetarian Meals. We can provide vegetarian meals or cater for special diets with no extra cost. Just let us know at time of reservation prior to trek departure.
(3) Sleeping bag hire. If you haven't got a sleeping bag or you don't want the hassle of bringing one all to Peru with you then we have sleeping bags in our office for rent. The price is US$10 per person per day.

Reservation details: All trek reservations must be made reservation in advance (however 30 days in advance is recommended especially during the months of April, May, June, July and August)

Payment details: We will require a non-refundable trek deposit of 50% per person payable at the time of Reservation and we will confirm you by e-mail or phone confirming your trek booking. The deposit could be paid by Our VISA Payment On-Line, Western Union or money transfer to our Peruvian Bank account and these are our fastest most secure form of payments in Peru. Further details of how to send the deposit are included with our trek booking confirmation email. The remaining balance is to be paid in Huaraz one day prior to your trek departure date. Payment can be made in cash US$, local currency (Peruvian Soles),
For a trek deposit Payment we use BANCO DE CREDITO DEL PERU, please if you are ready to make reservation inform as son as possible to send you our bank account number

>> Other information <<

  • Luggage storage. When you go on the trek it is best to leave any luggage that you are not going to need behind in Huaraz. Nearly all the hotels in Huaraz provide secure luggage deposit. Put any valuables in their safe. Very rarely do hotels charge for this service especially if you are returning to the same hotel after the trek. If there are any problems with your hotel we can arrange to store your luggage at our office.
  • Time of arrival in Huaraz you will return to your hotel in Huaraz for approximately 4:30pm on the last day of the trek
